Google Launched Google Earth

Google Inc. has launched a new software package that allows you to see satellite images on your desktop.

Google Earth lets you search for locations anywhere on earth and display 3D aerial images of major cities and tourist attractions. Google Earth is in development, but a free beta version is available for home users. Locations can be searched by address, intersections, cities, zip codes or countries and the images can be zoomed in close enough to see streets and buildings.

The images generated are 3D – you can rotate the view to see different sides of an object. You can navigate using a mouse or the keyboard, and view selectable layers to display information about local features such as roads, terrain, schools or golf courses.

Images of 38 US cities can be viewed from “the ground up” allowing you to see 3D representations of buildings and terrain. Measurement functions include distances between two locations, perimeters, radius and area.

Search results can be saved, printed and emailed. Driving directions can be automatically generated and you can trace the route using the “Play” button located underneath the directions tab.

Google Earth is based on technology from Keyhole Corp., a digital mapping company acquired by Google in 2004. The database that drives Google Earth is based on images from satellite and airplane photographs. The database is said to be “multi-terabytes” in size.

Google Earth is available in several versions. The free version is for personal use. Google Earth Plus costs $20 and integrates data from your GPS device. Google Earth Pro costs $400 and is designed for businesses who need a research and collaboration tool. Finally, there is Google Earth Enterprise Solutions for on-site deployment of Google Earth.

The technology behind Google Earth is not new, and smaller companies such as Glob explorer LLC have been offering 3D aerial views for several years. Google has the marketing clout, however, to bring the technology to the consumer level and integrate it into its advertising programs.

Users can search for local businesses and receive a viewpoint of 10 search results within a specified area. Clicking on a business listing brings up its address, phone number and driving directions.

About Adobe Photoshop CS

About:Adobe Photoshop CS is a Picture Editing program. This program is used to make many professional layouts and web graphics. This program is the highest rated Picture Editing program and is known for its “fancy” features.
Opinion:I’ve tried many different photo editing programs and by far Adobe Photoshop CS is the best. There is no other program that has any where near as many features. With this program you can do pretty much anything you can think of. This program may be wonderful but it is very costly. Its retail price is over $500. I suggest that you only buy it if you need to do professional looking work. If you need to do basic photo editing just stick with paint(it’s free).
Usability:Adobe Photoshop CS has a wide selection of features and because of this it is complicated to use for someone who is brand new to photo editing but once you learn how to do things it is fairly easy to use.
Features:Like I said before, Photoshop CS has many features. Some of the features are Layer editing system, Many Filters, Pallet System, Big color selection, and much more. There are many more features it would take a whole page to list them all. The ones listed above are the ones that I found most useful.

Positives of this product:
+ Many Features
+ Can make pro looking GFX
+ Good Setup
+ Everything is easy to find
+ Makes good quality pictures
Negatives of this product:
- Not easy to use for beginners
- Expensive

Simple Ways To Speed Up Your Windows XP

1. Disk Defragmenter: One of the factors that slow the performance of the computer is disk fragmentation. When files are fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk when the file is opened to piece it back together. To speed up the response time, you should monthly run Disk Defragmenter, a Windows utility that defrags and consolidates fragmented files for quicker computer response.
Follow
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
then: Click the drives you want to defrag and click Analyze>Click Defragment
2. Detect and Repair Disk Errors: Over time, your hard disk develops bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing difficult or even impossible. To detect and repair disk errors, Windows has a built-in tool called the Error Checking utility. It’ll search the hard disk for bad sectors and system errors and repair them for faster performance Follow:
Start > My Computer
In My Computer right-click the hard disk you want to scan and click Properties
Click the Tools tab
Click Check Now
Select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box
Click Start
3. Disable Indexing Services: Indexing Services is a little application that uses a lot of CPU. By indexing and updating lists of all the files on the computer, it helps you to do a search for something faster as it scans the index list. But if you know where your files are, you can disable this system service. It won’t do any harm to you machine, whether you search often or not very often.
Go to Start
Click Settings
Click Control Panel
Double-click Add/Remove Programs
Click the Add/Remove Window Components
Uncheck the Indexing services
Click Next
4. Optimize Display Settings: Windows XP is a looker. But it costs you system resources that are used to display all the visual items and effects. Windows looks fine if you disable most of the settings and leave the following:

Show shadows under menus
Show shadows under mouse pointer
Show translucent selection rectangle
Use drop shadows for icons labels on the desktop
Use visual styles on windows and buttons
5, 8. Remove Fonts for Speed: Fonts, especially TrueType fonts, use quite a bit of system resources. For optimal performance, trim your fonts down to just those that you need to use on a daily basis and fonts that applications may require.
Open Control Panel
Open Fonts folder
Move fonts you don’t need to a temporary directory (e.g. C:\FONTBKUP?) just in case you need or want to bring a few of them back. The more fonts you uninstall, the more system resources you will gain.
I hope all these techniques will really help you to make your computer faster and easier to use. If you find any problem in your computer then please refer problem to me. I will try to help you.
